Analyst Quotes
Enterprise Strategy Group, April 2008
“The IBRIX Fusion file system is fast. However, unlike many other next generation file systems, Fusion is fast with just about any type of data. IBRIX Fusion can handle large files, small files and lots of files. …ESG Lab is pleased to report that the IBRIX Fusion architecture works as advertised—it is scalable and fast for a wide variety of applications, it is fault tolerant and last but not least, it is easy to purchase and deploy as you work with your favorite systems or storage vendor.”
Taneja Group, April 2008
“Scale-out NAS can be built on different architectures such as centralized architectures, distributed lock managers, or namespace virtualizers. However, only IBRIX puts together such massive levels of cost savings, performance, manageability, and scalability. Its ability to provide Scale-out NAS on a grid-like parallel structure means that nodes are essentially disposable without impacting file-based data or applications. …The bottom line is that the IBRIX Fusion system can scale to huge capacities and be granularly reconfigured to match business requirements with both capacity and performance. The end result is a class of storage that promises it can handle all unstructured data growth the enterprise can throw at it, both today and tomorrow.”
Gartner, March 2008
"IBRIX Positioned in Visionaries Quadrant in the Magic Quadrant for Midrange and High-End NAS Solutions, 1H08"
Greg Schulz, StorageIO Group, January 2008
“The StorageIO Group sees vendors of scalable and flexible clustered file server storage like IBRIX having the potential of leveraging the inherent processing capabilities of constantly improving underlying hardware platforms to deliver new and robust value-added features for data and storage management. StorageIO sees and believes that clustered storage—including clustered NAS fle serving for concurrent access of data using NFS and CIFS by application servers or optional parallel access—is no longer exclusive to niche applications or scientific and HPC environments.”
Simon Robinson, The 451 Group, December 2007
"We believe 2008 will be a turning point as Web-scale storage goes mainstream. Organizations need to deploy more cost-efficient, more scalable and higher performance systems than ever before to meet the rising tides of data growth. At the same time they have a much lower tolerance for latency and bottlenecks within the storage infrastructure. Well positioned vendors are those who can effectively address both of these challenges. IBRIX gained some solid traction in '07 and will be looking to put in a repeat performance in 2008."
“You’ve got a lot of content that’s being either access or worked on at the same time, by a lot of different people at the same time—so that data needs to be in multiple places all of the time and doing that is almost impossible with traditional technologies. The volumes of data we’re talking about and the file sizes we’re talking about and the sheer numbers of files is pretty much unprecedented.”
