IBRIX Fusion
IBRIX Fusion is an enterprise-class file serving software suite that includes a highly scalable parallel file system with data protection, high availability features, and a comprehensive management interface. Because the product is software only it can be installed on any server with connection to any storage device, and customers can avoid vendor lock-in by selecting best-of-breed hardware.
IBRIX Fusion is based on a patented segmented file system architecture that, unlike other file systems, does not require a central metadata server or a distributed lock manager. By “parallelizing” the data as well as the metadata, the result is phenomenal agility in terms of gigabytes per second throughput and unlimited scalability with all types and sizes of files.
Using IBRIX Fusion, enterprises can aggregate their I/O and storage systems into a single clustered environment to achieve better performance. The environment, managed through a centralized interface, can be shared among many users and across a multitude of applications. IBRIX Fusion supports any combination of SAN-attached or direct attached storage.
Adding 5 terabytes meant purchasing 40 terabytes of capacity to guarantee sufficient performance—that’s a serious capital expenditure. IBRIX was able to make an immediate impact on our business operations by increasing our throughput performance and scalability at one-eighth the cost of our legacy system.
